2 sisters running away from their captors. Don't know where they are. Don't know what to do. The older sister, Shinkirô, will do whatever it takes to keep her younger sister, Neko, safe. Together they get away from their captors, the Akastuki. She stumbles upon a quiet village. Peaceful, well sort of. Not knowing where they are, Shinkirô, being the protective older sister she is, puts up a fight to protect her younger sister. After being kidnapped by the Akastuki for about 5 years, there is a lot these 2 have forgotten. Like, how and what to do in certain situations. 
Will the sisters find someone to finally let in?&nbsp;
Will Shinkirô keep her promise to always be there and protect her younger sister?&nbsp;
Will they both live to the end?
Will they be able to build lives again?
Can they escape their horrible past? Will Shinkiro's secret stay a secret or will she trust others with it as well?

Years later, his home village is attacked and his mother is murdered before he narrowly escapes with his life. He doesn't remember anything about the attack or his life before it. He then obtains the name Kabuto Yakushi.
