Young Selaena Cordova was found frozen, and half dead, on the banks of the Northern River, in the newly fallen kingdom Anielle, when she was only six, by the King of the Northern assassins Waylon Radcliff, in Lysandria, a conquering country just to the north, ruled by the brutish King Kieron, and soft spoken Queen Rosalee, after her parents brutal murder, and her brother going missing. It is under the care and brutal training of Waylon that Salaena becomes the most highly celebrated assassin in Lysandria-- when she is only seventeen.
However, Selaena receives summons to the Stone Castle, to serve King Kieron as his Royal Assassin. It is here that she meets the beautiful prince Nico, and the two immediately become friends.
