Beneath The Surface
In an attempt to get the two bickering countries to get along, Alfred and Ivan must spend one month together in one of Alfreds homes. In a house set back into the woods, these two countries are going to grow closer together and learn more about eachother then anyone else has before. Even a few things that they never wanted the other to find out. *Warning* Depressed America. Suicidal thoughts. Suicide attempt. Vulgar language. Maybe smut? Union's Brood
After the second American Civil War, the world changes drastically. A new nation stood where the United States once was, the Last Empire having fallen to its own people. Addicted to more chemicals than a lab rat, Alfred has a hard time keeping his head up- quite literally. It's not that he doesn't want to quit- believe me, he does!- it's just that the withdrawal is destroying him from the inside out. What makes it worse, is when he's placed into an arranged marriage as a landgrab, and then told about it just before it happened. Now he is wrestling with both his addiction, and someone he was supposed to marry in 1860! Ivan was an addict, once. He understood the pain of withdrawal. He wants to help, since there was nobody around to help him. The idea of joining the Union was one he hadn't even thought of before his boss had arranged the marriage with the dictatrix. Now, he was thrown into a world he didn't know, forced to interact with people he had never met, and be one of the first nations, the third most powerful, to join a mega-nation. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Extra: Alfred is headcannoned as brown get over it. Descent
Many things fall. Such as heros. All heros eventually fall. Some because of a villian. But America? No, this hero was falling to something else. Something worst. Something more painful. He was falling to those he thought we're his friends and family. ----------------------------------------------------------------- You would think that he was one of the happiest people you would ever know. Strong, Truly Strong
Strong: Being able to withstand great force or pressure. America was strong. His parents had abandoned him, he always was blamed for things, and was always able to withstand all the insults that the countries threw at him, but it hurt though. He was strong. But many of the countries didn't know that. But when a world meeting reveals America's memories. They'll find out and see him for what he really is. Strong. But not just strong. Truly Strong. The Actor
Is the clown the fool of the story, or are you? After all, the clown knows it's an act, but the audience is so lost in it that they tend to forget. Alfred had lived a long life. He'd learned a lot in it. That England was easy to gaslight if you knew what you were doing. France would back away from any show of force. Germany could ignore a bumbling idiot even as the evidence piled up just because he wasn't very good with people. Poland saw everything and read people like a book. Prussia would keep his mouth shut if you gave him enough liquor or made him obedient. Russia would turn a blind eye if you turned one to him. China never trusted anyone even if there was evidence of the contrary. It's 2016 and suicide rates are at an all time high in America. They're worse than during the Great Depression. This is having a great affect on Alfred, who is having a difficult time pulling through. His thoughts are getting darker and his skin bloodier. With all these deaths and the thoughts mulling in his brain will he be able to make it through this time? Is there anything Arthur can do? The future is looking bleak, and this is one thing Arthur isn't sure Alfred will be able to make it through. (This is purely fictional and I do no own any of the characters used. As for the suicide rates, this is a very serious topic, and is "made up". I do bot know what they are in 2016, as it is still 2015, and they will hopefully not be this bad when 2016 comes around.
