Rank Three is the story of Alex Stossel, a young African-American woman growing up in 2300's America. Horrifically wounded in a car crash she became a 'mech', a cyborg, at a young age. Forced to flee from society's persecution of her kind, she grows up in an underground railroad of mechs under the care of her mentor, Al. For Alex, life is monotonously dangerous until she meets Natalie Joshi in a botched robbery. Through a series of accidental meetings they grow closer and romance blossoms, but dangers lurks in Capital City and threatens to tear the young couple apart.
