Just the same, there is light and dark.
The light is for the compassionate, the pure of heart, the brave, the good, the joyful.
The dark is for the broken, the hurt, the cursed, the betrayed, the evil, the angry.
Anyone can experience either, and it does not make them indecisive or a traitor.
However, there is a balance for such emotions which everyone must discover for their own. Once one finds such a thing, they become a higher power.
It can be many different things in many different people. It can be nostalgia, tranquility, meditation, memories, friendships, enemies. It can be love too.

Tales of a Comet (A Kylo Ren Story)
My earliest memory is pain. Pain of losing a mother, pain of losing the love of a father, pain from the isolation that happened after the incident. I am reminded by others that what happened on that day was an accident and it wasn't my fault, but deep down I know what truly happened and so does my father and brothers. The deep self-anger and self-hate I have was slowly consuming me until I was taken away by General Organa and the Resistance. My life was beginning to look brighter, until the day I was kidnapped by the First Order. This is where my story neither begins nor ends. And then there is a certain group of meddling Force Ghosts determined to test them to their fullest. Meanwhile, Finn has a destiny of his own to fulfill chasing visions of his past across the galaxy. Poe buries himself in work as he tries to forget his failures and forge ahead. Leia attempts to cement her legacy and ensure the future of the galaxy. This fanfic explores a different ending to TROS starting at about the halfway point, when Kylo reveals the truth about Rey in the hangar. It will focus mainly on their story but there will be significant plot arcs that focus on Finn, Poe, Leia, and others. There will be a few augmentations to the earlier story, but I have tried to stay true to the plot up until this point, except for the 16 hr deadline Palpatine gave them. His threat was open ended in my version.
