There was once a family, one of a revered name, who could speak to snakes. This trait was passed down through their children, whose magic was so strong, even the great Salazar Slytherin held a lot of respect for this family.

Now, at least five hundred years on, the Silvern family is all but forgotten, their once great parseltongue abilities left behind in dusty history books, and the few family members spread far and wide. Except a new fire is kindling; Ophelia, a bright, intelligent girl, who's abilities might reawaken the ancients of the magic world. A girl left at an orphanage by a father who could not care for her. A girl whose only friend is a parselmouth, just like her. A girl who is far less human than she lets on...
