The amps on stage are warm. The PA system hums at a subtle level, a sure sign of aging from many nights running at ear thumping levels. The stage lights blaze brightly, the glare making the crowd at the local bar look like nothing more than shuffling dark silhouettes while looking out from backstage. This has been the weekend life for Jake Miller while playing in his first local band. The music, friendships, booze, and fights that go along with it are what local bands live for.... Follow along with this story and understand what the life of a local musician is really like. Most of the content will draw heavily from my own experiences over the years but name's have been changed for obvious reasons. Hope to provide a lot of insight into understanding why your local musicians are the way that they are if you're not familiar already. Enjoy!

Having a crush on one of your closest friends is not easy. You want to tell them how you feel but what if they don't feel the same? Will your friendship be ruined forever? Why do crushes have to be so complicated? Three words could either change your whole life in a good way or a bad way. (I'm bad at writing descriptions, I know.)
