There have been whispers.
There have been rumours.
There have been speculations.
But are these theories true?
No one knows for sure.
It's merely a legend, a myth.
But what if it's not?

In a small village, surrounded by a dense forest in Alaska, the villagers are enjoying which seems to be a normal night. That is until a strange cry rippled over the village in shockwaves. It was no ordinary cry. No. It was a high pitched cry that sent shivers down their spines. An animal in distress. But not a small animal. A big one; one that can rip you to shreds if approached.

The people have heard of a giant animal roaming the place centuries ago. It was said to be a wolf; a giant wolf. But it is just a myth, a legend to scare the children from misbehaving. But was it really just some mythical wolf that towered over all the animals and had razor sharp canines that could tear your flesh like paper? Or does it exist among the other wildlife in the forest but has yet to be discovered?

They call it the "amarok".
"An amarok is a gigantic wolf in Inuit mythology, said to stalk and devour any person foolish enough to hunt alone at night. Unlike real wolves who hunt in packs, amaroks hunt alone."

He is rescued, given a new home, a new family, a new name. But he is haunted by the memories of death and destruction. Proclaimed the new Alphason of the weakened RustClaw pack, he struggles with the sense that he can never fully belong to this new pack, much less lead them to a better future. Nothing feels like it is his, but duty pushes him forward. Inuit struggles for years to accept his place, to feel anything for his adopted pack other than a cold sense of duty. Only a few wolves can penetrate the emotionless walls he's built... Until he sees his mate deep in the forests of the mountains. Raised by her mother and father in complete isolation, all she has left in the world are the inherent skills to survive taught by her violent father and bitter warnings of The Pack told by her mother. Everything had happened so fast, one minute an Alpha from a pack I'd heard was equal to my blood-sister's pack was claiming her as his even though she was marked, bound, and pregnant with her mate's child... and the next minute all hell broke loose as Rogues started to ambush the guests. I hadn't been aware of any of this until I had heard my blood-sister's screams as her mate was about to shift in order to protect her. But I beat him to it. I was already flying over his crouched back, fully shifted into my wolf form and streaking toward the leading Rogue. We were engaged in a fight that neither of us would get out of unscathed, but I didn't care. He had gone after my Blood-sister. She may only be my sister through the blood ritual we had done, but I still considered her the only family I had and this wolf had put her in danger. That made me angry. That made me stronger... and he should have listened to the rumors when they said that you NEVER want to anger the 'Lone She-Wolf'. Diane is used to being alone, the only family she really acknowledges at this point is her Blood-Sister Cleo of the Blue Moon Pack , and she means the world to her. But when Cleo holds a party to tell Diane about her big news, there couldn't have been a bigger surprise waiting for Diane right within the guest-list. Andrew is Alpha to the Crescent Moon Pack and he's tired of searching for what his wolf wants desperately, a mate. He humors an old friend of his Father's and goes to a party to celebrate the Alpha's only daughter... and as fate would have it, the party brings him to the one person that his wolf has been looking for.

"Who's out there?" One of the men yelled. Of course only silence met them. I remained quiet and waited for the group to start moving again. "Maybe it was just an animal." Someone whispered. The person, who I assumed was the captain of the small squad, signaled for them to walk again. They clearly showed fear as they kept going; brandishing their weapons to guard themselves with. "Two are holding lanterns. I'll tell you when you're too close to them." I heard my friend whisper in my ear. I followed the men as I picked up another branch and waited for the right time to break it. They continued to walk through the forest, turning their heads in every direction as if an animal might lunge at them and rip their throats out. I guess in a way I was going to do that. "Go back a few feet." My friend whispered. I carefully distanced myself from the group and waited. "Where is she?" I quickly snapped the stick as soon as he finished asking the question. They stopped and two soldiers raised their lanterns to shine its light in the darkness. I quickly hid behind a tree before both of them turned where I was. A low frustrated growl came from one of the men, "The girl's playing with us. She's out here following our every move." How paranoia can cloud the mind. At nine years old, Silver decided to leave her village for the forest. Since then, she's been hunted; everyday is a fight for her life, every breath she takes could be her last, but she's determined to stay alive. Her life isn't the kind anyone would want to live but she's managed to survive this long so, what's a few more years?
