NBC made the big announcement - Hoda Kotb is the new permanent co-host of The Today Show. Paired up with current host Savannah Guthrie, it's the first time in the show's 66-year history with two women hosts. Overcoming Life's Challenges The success of 54-year old Kotb is well-earned. She has persevered and strived throughout her career to achieve outsized success. Born to Egyptian parents in 1964, she neither looked black nor white, which made it difficult for her to fit in. Kotb, to her credit, never used her ethnicity as a crutch. She fervently believed in her abilities and never let judgement of others determine her self-worth.
