The Darkness Within

Eva was thirteen the first time she saw the darkness that clung to some people.

Through a near-death experience with one of these creatures, Eva has come to believe that they are dangerous and that she is the only one who can stop them.

Now, a senior in high school, Eva tries to balance her growing suspicion that she may be losing her mind, with her desire to live a normal life. When Brenden Connor enters her world, she knows that a normal life isn't going to be possible. Not only is he the most gorgeous boy she has ever seen, but he's also one of those marked souls. While he seems to be an ordinary guy on the outside, Eva doesn't trust him. She's been fooled by the demons before. She believes it's up to her to stop him before he can harm anyone in her small town.

However, when Brenden saves her best friend's life on the night she plans to kill him, Eva's world is turned upside down, as everything changes. If Brenden isn't the monster she believes him to be, then does that make Eva crazy?
