{#520 in Poetry} The world has turned to ash. Hot winds and violent storms are in its place. Whatever remains of humanity has descended into chaos. The earth is taking back what is hers in a fit of catastrophic rage. This story follows a few people in their quest for survival and healing.
This is my first attempt after years of not completing any writing. I really would like to finish my first book, so please join me on this journey! I will be uploading a new chapter every day until 1/18, then once a week until completion. I'm proud to be doing this, and I hope you enjoy! Please leave any and all feedback!

The world ended in ash. The two that walk through the rubble of their world experience both the best and the worst of what humanity has become--when the world ends. <[{Insert: The characters speak without quotation marks due to the style of writing I use to portray their situation. It's to show that the story is Keane's journal or verbal recounting of the story, rather than just a first-person point-of-view novel. Ashima has dreamed of space exploration her entire life. Finally embarking on her first mission, her excitement turns to terror when she crash lands on a planet of ice. Alone and ill-equipped to survive in such harsh terrain, Ashima is found near death by a 7 foot tall alien with lavender skin. Will he be the savior she needs, or is she destined for destruction on this planet who's residents' hearts seem to be made of ice as solid as the planet she found them on? Note: This story is meant to be enjoyable for any age, but there are moments of physical abuse and there are times where the main character remembers the events of her spaceship crash. After being convicted of a murder she didnt commit alita is left stranded on the hostile world filled with carnivorous plants, ruthless criminals, hostile natives, and bloodthirsty monsters. She comes to realize the world isnt as unforgiving and cold as it seems. She's saved by a native who dislikes humans as much as the next guy but shes intent on sticking by his side in order to survive. The only issue being is the last thing he wants is a pathetic, weak human girl following him around. (Limited time only read!)
