People use their gifts to do different things, make peace with others with their powers. Some people are selfish and want their ability To themselves and pick on the weak.
The world sometimes never forgives a person and makes their life a living hell.
Or sometimes someone appears before them and gives them a chance for redemption, like how he gave me a chance at redemption.

-John has already been traumatized. He's been convinced to hate himself by Keon and been traumatized by his own ability. But what happens if we add a bit more trauma into the mix? Turns out Keon has been working with Orrin for years! (La Gasp!) and Orrin decided that since John was so powerful, Orrin should make the boy his agent.
