2,218 Earth won't stop heating up, normal temperatures average 135°. With imminent destruction looming, someone has to figure out what's causing planetary chaos. LAURA, a descendant of the Originators, has always known she owns this puzzle, this responsibility. Laura has internalized this lifelong burden; in turn, she's developed a dissociative disorder she's effectively kept secret from everyone.

Laura's leading the effort to solve this climate crisis, with her team of global environmental, atmospheric scientists for the U.S. company, H20, Corporation. Just when Earth's temperatures are beginning to normalize, the barometer starts climbing back up. Laura believes the human key to the Earth's weather crisis, is the team's newest member, MERC. Only he's not human and he's a charismatic psychopath.

Merc's a first generation Originator, who's covertly working with the Untouchables. The Untouchables booby-trapped the Earth with artifacts believed to be creations of Earth's early civilizations. These machines of destruction are responsible for the blazing heat that is incrementally destroying the Earth.

What causes complications for Laura's progress is her growing attraction to Merc, oddly because he's as void of a conscience as she is. She needs to figure out if Merc knows where the machines are so she can shut them down. Merc in turn, needs to stop Laura from finding the machines to keep Earth on its path to ruination. They are more powerful than they are letting on, and have no qualms about killing the other.

Elodie's life changes at the turn of a doorknob when she is forced into joining a secret organization that claims to be protecting the Earth from aliens. But with every step she takes, she finds the organization, or the facility, as they call it, becoming more and more suspicious. When a mysterious death occurs, revealing a well-concealed secret, things quickly go downhill as humanity's future is placed on the shoulders of a single gaggle of teenagers. *** I hear a sigh from the other side of the door, "Miss. Chaucer, you have a wonderful opportunity here, are you going to take it or not?" Now, I am seriously confused, "Opportunity?" She takes advantage of my befuddled state and shoves the door open. Shit. The corners of her mouth pull up, and it's so unnatural, it takes me a moment to realize she's smiling. Major plastic surgery? Probably. Click. Did she just lock the door? She locked the door! I spring towards the house phone, dusty from years of doing absolutely nothing, so I can call the police. I don't make it. Halfway there, I trip on my own pant-leg and face plant on the floor. The woman steps over me and retrieves the phone. She looks at it as if it's a foreign object, "This won't be necessary. All I want to do is talk to you." For some reason, instead of screaming, I stay silent. She smiles and pulls out a chair from the kitchen table for me to sit on. When I don't sit, she says, "If you want to know what's going on, then sit." I think about it for a moment. She hasn't hurt me yet, and I have to admit, I am quite curious as to what's going on. ?Highest #12 in '#technology' (17 June 2018)? ⚛ Highest #228 in Science Fiction (30 May 2018) ⚛ "It's alright." I waved my hand dismissively. "I'm allergic to bullshit." ♧♣♧♣♧♣♧♣♧♣♧ Maya Scoren is unique. But she's not the only one, there are nine others supposed to be besides her; two of which never made it past their mother's womb and one who's incompatible. What makes them special, is also what makes them dangerous. Ripped from their normal, day-to-day,school life, family and friends with no warning, they find out who they are. And why they're alive. But fitting back into that normal life they missed so much is proving to be hard. Especially for Maya, who has a tendency to get herself in trouble and extraordinary situations ENTIRELY her fault. (She'd rather die than admit that of course) Old life brings the problem of boys, unwanted advances, homework, teachers and of course, a boyfriend with she had a rather uncharacteristic meet-up. Scott, Sed, Andy are her childhood friends all the way with her in this. Almost all the way. They didn't expect her to change or to come back at all and they are having a HARD time adjusting to the new Maya. She's dangerous, she's hot and she knows it. She has done a lot in the past two years that will catch up to her and stuff after that which refuses to stay hidden. Controlling CEOs, sensitive boyfriend, an obssessed boss is just the tip of the iceberg. And I'm not even touching the problems at her school. Will all this unwanted attention put her in trouble? Author's note: this was my first story ever. It has no proper plot or story but it's fun to read! Also, lots of typos. And grammar mistakes. Tons of them. Tons. You have been warned. (Actually not that many but you've still been warned)
Glass Heart by MalditahDiaries
21 parts Ongoing
After the Earth's magnetic field collapsed, the planet was bombarded with unfiltered solar radiation. The skies burned. Cities turned to dust. Survivors now live in massive airborne citadels, floating high above the toxic surface in a fragile balance of climate, class, and control. Each citizen's survival depends on a Glass Heart - a biomechanical implant powered by solar energy, calibrated to their social rank. The elite bask in artificial sunlight and live for centuries. The lower castes, confined to the shadowed underlayers, burn out fast - their hearts dimming with every passing year. Aella, born in the shadow-tier, works as a solar mechanic, servicing the light panels that keep the city afloat. One wrong move, and she risks exposure to raw light - a death sentence. She lives quietly, surviving by routine... until one night, she's ordered to repair a core in the upper citadel. There, she meets Cassian, a solar prince with a perfect Glass Heart - blindingly bright, surgically beautiful, and destined to rule the sky. Their connection is immediate. Impossible. Reckless. Every moment Aella spends near him overcharges her failing heart, threatening to burn her alive. Every second Cassian defies his caste by being with her dims his - an irreversible sign of corruption. But as their stolen encounters grow deeper, they uncover a secret buried in the light system: the citadel is failing. The elite's immortality depends on draining the hearts of the poor. Every bright Glass Heart comes at the cost of hundreds of dimmed ones. Including Aella's. They can run - and die faster. Or they can ignite a revolution powered by love, truth, and the one thing the elite can't manufacture: sacrifice. Because love isn't forbidden. It's just fatal.

*Book #1 In The Crashing Series* A long time ago, people used to think that Earth would be taken over by aliens. That we would all be destroyed from their advanced technology and uncaring demeanor towards Earthlings and our entire mass population in general. That we would be picked off like mice in a locked maze, all fighting to save ourselves, all trying to get to the cheese that was freedom. But we didn't know that the only thing that would destroy us would inevitably be ourselves. We didn't know that our planet was dying before our very eyes and our countries were at constant war with each other, each fighting for more power. More money. More everything. We didn't know....Until it was too late. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Set in the year 2655, Earth has been completely demolished by poverty, famine and war, leaving nothing behind but a handful of survivors and most of the population relocated to space stations. Onboard the Celestial, one of the main stations in the galaxies, is 21 year old Mabel "Mae" Minerva. Forced to board the Celestial as a child many years ago along with her younger sister, Mae has always felt out of place in the galaxy, always preferring to spend her time rebuilding old space equipment then seeking the company of other humans. Though when a rumor is spread that her mother may be alive back on Earth, Mae springs into action to steal an armored spacecraft in hopes to save her mother from an unnatural death back on Earth. But when her miscalculations and malfunctioning ship takes her off course, she crash lands on a planet deemed to be uninhabitable. Until she meets an alien who burns hotter then the sun and who knows too much, and too little, about her kind.

A oneshot involving an apocalyptic maiden as a protagonist ‼️THIS IS A CONCEPT STORY, NOTHING IS FINAL HERE‼️ ~~~ SHORT ORIGINAL STORY ~~~ A summary for another original story. Hundreds of years into the future, humanity had already started exploring beyond their bubble that was the solar system, spaceships of all kinds being developed and two superpowers racing to see who can reach their first star system. But all of that was interrupted when a person received a gift from a shooting star, which awakened them from their human bodies. Turning them into a being capable of mass destruction it took a few years just to kill them, and by the time they were successful, half of a entire continent had been razed to the ground. But that awakening would be the first to come, and soon a domino effect would occur which gave rise to Harbingers, what humans call the 'enemies of humanity' and the ones that emerge just to destroy what they achieved a thousand years ago Carol Brenners, otherwise known as Carol was your shut in girl that took care of her only grandmother, as both her parents had passed away, and her relatives gone.. But maybe it got out of hand when a terrorist organization had launched an attack against her home city. She had nothing to lose now, and with her lashing out the world, her awakening began. And thus the company responsible for every advancement of human technology would demonize her as a result, sweeping the entire attack under the rug and blaming her for all that happened. I wonder what it feels like to be labeled as a villain by the world around you? ~~~~ Inspired by the concepts of Herrshers from Honkai Impact 3rd. There's too many wattpad stories out there that use the 'villainess' trope and turn it into something else lame, let me cook bro

It is a slow burn, but worth it. ~ After a devastating alien invasion leaves Earth in ruins, humanity struggles to survive in isolated zones, clinging to life behind barriers of failing technology. Lena, a skilled engineer with fierce determination, dedicates her life to maintaining what little remains of this protective technology-especially the light posts that keep the Xyvarians at bay. But when a search for medicine pulls her outside the safe zone, she encounters a certain alien. Towering, muscular, and adorned with sharp, curving horns, this alien is a calculated hunter, though his interest in Lena is anything but logical. Drawn to her, he pursues her in a dangerous game of cat and mouse, one that blurs the line between predator and prey. As Lena fights to evade capture, the tension between them ignites into a charged, forbidden attraction that neither can fully understand. He is unlike any alien she's ever faced-Machiavellian, dangerous, unyielding, yet inexplicably captivated by her. Lena, wary and unwilling to surrender, finds herself both repelled and fascinated by the Xyvarian who watches her with a gaze that burns with something far more primal. As she grapples with confusing desires and the disturbing revelation of a breeding program, Lena is forced to question everything-her survival, her humanity, and her heart. ~ (The artwork featured in my cover photo was sourced from Pinterest. I do not own the original artwork; I have only added the title and a few design details.)

Humans believed they were the only intelligent life to exist... that it was impossible for another species to evolve in a way where they could prevail in something as great as space travel. humans believed they were supposed to be the most technologically advanced species and the alpha predators... They were wrong. The Xandisians evolved in ways humans never could have imagined, they are natural-born killers with phenomenal strength and agility. Their kind never went through the same devolution as humans, they never lost their natural instincts to hunt, kill, or breed. With their limitless potential and monstrous strength, they faced few threats and could survive almost any threat that befall their species, almost. After an incurable sickness washes over the planet of xanadis, the majority of the female, young and elderly, and vulnerable population is all but wiped out, leaving a small portion of the male population to face the threat of extinction. With no choice but to look to the stars for a means to save their kind from complete annihilation, the xandisians set out to find a race compatible with their own. after many years and countless failed expeditions, they finally find a species that matches their base DNA on a planet called Earth. The only issue now is how humans will react.
