Eliza dropped the lifeless body her feet, the glazed over, lightless eyes of a stranger meeting her own. The cop cars were already turning down the street, the wailing of the antagonizing sirens and screeching of tires on asphalt being her notice. It was rather difficult to hear over the erratic, unsteady beating of her own heart. "Get out of here!" her survival instinct screamed. "This man is no different than the rest. Now, go. He'll be waking up in a hospital bed soon and there will be no witnesses. That is, no witnesses unless you stay standing where you are like a blundering idiot. Go. Now." With one final glance of regret and remorse, Eliza turned on her heel and began running down the dark alley, the inky darkness of the small suburbs engulfing her once more. She listened to the voice inside her head. She didn't look back this time.
