When Kata's grandfather died, her family got the trailer and even though it was hard for her family, they made it work. Kata was taught how to hunt, shoot a gun, and grossly, how to gut certain animals. One night, the world died. Everything. The dead started coming back to life, killing the living. Her family ran into a man and woman on the highway, combing with other people, making a larger group. Everything started really change when a man named Rick Grimes came to the group.

You met Maggie Greene at NYU: you were studying fine arts, she was studying agricultural sciences. She was finishing up undergrad while you were finishing your masters. Maggie being from the South and you being from the North, your world views were vastly different; that's probably why you clicked so well. You both graduated in May, the world fell in August. You had no one, and so you drove as far and fast as you could, knowing if there was anyone you could turn to, it was Maggie.
