Irene Hazel Williams was known for her rather proper ways. She is tragically beautiful and lives her life how her mother wishes her too. Irene was considered intelligent, prim, and absolutely stubborn. She did as she pleased with limits and Gilbert Blythe liked it. When Irene finally rejoins Avonlea School after the loss of her mother, she is much more her and much less the woman that once was and Gilbert Blythe finds it intriguing. Irene doesn't mean too, but with her rosy cheeks, and autumn hair, she strings the poor boy along.
