Every 16 years the best heroes in the world come together to fight in a tournament to distinguish who's the best of them all. The tradition has been upheld for thousands of years but this time, it is going to be much different. Pitch Black has taken over the kingdom of Arrendale, where it is normally held and has trapped all of the best fighters there.
Now the tournament is no longer a worldwide gathering of fun and harmony. It is a fight for survival.
Amongst the group of people Pitch has kidnapped are Rapunzel, Hiccup Haddock III, Jack Frost, Flynn Rider and Merida Dunbrock. They have each been ripped away from their lives, deprived of their happy endings.
But what will happen when Elsa Arrendale, soon to be queen of the kingdom is chosen. To anyone except her sister Anna, she is just a normal teenage girl. So what is she hiding that would make her dangerous enough to be chosen?
