"I remember the black wharves and the slips... And the beauty and mystery of the ships, the magic of the sea."-- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, "My Lost Youth"
----------
Cordelia never wanted it to happen.
Since the drowning of her father, her mother and Cordelia are running away from the memories, so when they moved back to North Carolina, it was hard for both of them. Cordelia had no intention of being anywhere near the Ocean, but when she was kidnapped by pirates she had no choice.
She was captured by the Pirate King and has to hide her identity from him otherwise she would be killed. She goes under the name of Romeo and befriends another kidnapped boy, Flake. Together they look after each other on the Pirate Ship, hoping to survive each day.
Cordelia and Flake must survive all of the obstacles that the Pirate King throws at them from dangerous pirates to mermaids and hidden terrors of the deep blue Sea. She must rely on lies to keep her safe, but with so many lies who can she trust?
Cordelia has a chance to discover lost secrets and hidden wonders in her journey to find her freedom and to unearth her past.

Cass has no memories of her parents, only impossible dreams of waves and orcas and, sometimes, her mother's voice. When she and her adopted aunt return to the Pacific Northwest island--where her parents died twelve years before--Cass hopes the place will trigger long-buried memories. Instead, she discovers that the impossible is real, and that history is about to repeat itself. Unless she can stop it. ***Teaser*** The water hit with such a shock of cold that Cass thought she was going to pedal up and out of it again like some cartoon character. Instead, she flailed and splashed and smashed one arm against a piling as salt water poured into her raincoat & filled her shoes. "How do you like it?" Jason yelled. She spun until she could make out his form, black against gray sky. "What?" she sputtered. She dragged one arm from the water long enough to shove wet hair from her face. Jason became clearer: black hair dark above his yellow raincoat, arms crossed over his chest. "What the hell are you talking about?" "I asked how you like it, going for a swim in this water." She was open-mouthed with disbelief. It was a bad idea; a surge lifted her and slapped salt water into her mouth. Bile burned her throat as she coughed and all the while she was still flailing at the water, fighting the drag of shoes and clothes to keep afloat. She should kick them off-that's what you were supposed to do if you fell into the ocean with your clothes on-but she was only a dozen feet from the dock. Besides, it was her only coat. Jason watched her the way she'd watch a barracuda. "I know you're following me." "Following you?" What. The. Hell. She gave a mighty kick and tossed her coat onto the dock. Jason just stood there. "I nearly drowned last week, you know that? Now you show up as if nothing happened." "Last week," Cass said slowly, "I was in Argentina." Whatever he'd seen, it wasn't her.

The Mermaid-Cursed Pirate

52 parts Complete

Sirena may look like a normal girl, but she is far from it. Not only is she a mermaid, but she is also a lot older than she looks. She has lived on Neverland for longer than she cares to remember. She lives in solidarity, trying to avoid the annoying teenaged boys on the island and people in general. Trying to avoid her fate that looms closer each day. She had it pretty good - until a ship appeared on Neverland's shores and gave her hope to escape the inevitable. Freedom was so close! But then an unexpected pirate ruined everything. Or so she thought. AN: I do not own any characters from Once Upon a Time and some elements for the mermaids were taken from H2O: Just Add Water. Sirena, the plot, and most elements of the mermaid world and the mermaid curses are my own. Please do not steal, but enjoy!
