"Ice Cream! Ice Cream! All selling for $2! Get your ice cream now!" I yelled, attracting the attention of people around me, oblivious to the mouth-watering delight sitting within their reach if only they paid $2.
As I climbed down the table I was standing on and went back behind the counter, I saw a group of seniors headed our way. "Yes! Sales!" I thought. I went through the motion of collecting their money and giving them the ice cream they wanted.
Soon, I reached the last person, I realized he was Rafi, one the school's most popular seniors due to his CCA and academics. I was not the kind of person attracted to popular people. Actually I hated the popular seniors. As he passed me his $5 note, he made a notion for me to turn it around. I did that and saw fine words scribbled on it, saying," Meet me behind the senior's block in 10 minutes." I looked up to see him wink at me and I immediately rolled my eyes.
"What ice cream do you want?" I asked him in a fake sweet voice, hoping to get this over and done with as soon as possible.
"A chocolate cone please," He said. I turned around to get the ice cream and when I got it, I turned around saying, "Here..." trailing off as I realized he was gone. The only thing that proved his presence earlier was the $5 note.
I looked up and around to find a glimpse of him to only see that he was walking away with a chocolate cone in hand. He turned around and winked at me, mouthing,
"Be sure you're there."
