Winter's Game

For millennia a strange occurrence has happened every new moon. The world will open up underneath someone and they will fall into the Earth but all you can see is a bright blue and white light. Nobody knows what happens to these people or where they go. All they know is that whoever is taken never comes back.
One day Mele Winters is the "chosen one" that is sucked into the Earth but this time it's different. Her husband Edsel and her daughter Elaine jump into the unknown with her.
Will the Winters be the only ones to come back from this strange world? Will they suffer the same fate as everyone else? Where does everyone go and what happens there? But most importantly who or what causes it? Is it just one big game?
