Tristian Alvarez has just returned from the dead, but he can do that. He is what the ancients called a Tangent, humans that had abilities beyond the norm. Tangents exist in many subcategories with various different abilities. Seekers, who can see into the future. Protectors, humans with enhanced physical ability. Tristian is a Descender, who could visit the gates of paradise or the depths of the underworld. There are many others that we don't even know about, but they are out there.
