A 17-year-old Adventure seeking girl by the name of Luna Pax has always been quite the loner. After moving from the big city life to the countryside, which she hasn't taken as well as her single parent had hoped, refuses to leave the house. Saying that she'd rather stayed in the hospital than leaving her friends. Her mother, Anabella, tries desperately to change her mind. So, they embark on a trip to the nearby woods to camp and relax. But there is something strange going on in those trees that has almost everything there quite literally frozen in their tracks.

[Short Story, a little fast pace] "What are you doing in our territory, rogue?" The man snarls at me. "M-Me no b-bring h-harm." I whimper. The man laughs bitterly at me before grabbing me by the neck harshly. "I don't know what game you're trying to play you vile creature but this whole innocent act is going to get you nowhere." We have been on the run for days now. The safety of my children is my priority. I was betrayed in the worst way, and I could not watch him hurt us any longer. The sky was a flat, depressing grey and the incessant, soaking rain left her constantly chilled. It was a typical "liquid sunshine" day in the Pacific Northwest. They drove past a single tall scraggly tree on top of a hill shrouded in mist. The creepy tree was full of screaming crows. How could she hear them from inside the bus when she couldn't even seem to hear the voices of the kids around her? Geez, that was an awfully freaking dark image. She shivered and looked away. What did they call a group of crows again? Right, a murder of crows. Perfect. The weather was certainly the only thing that was typical these days, although you'd never know it by looking around the bus at most of the kids as they sat joking and gossiping with each other just like they had before... before that day everything had changed.
