Arty Gibbons hasn't changed his socks since the dawn of detergent, and the air in Gila has gotten rotten. Wallowing in his garage prison, rejected by friends, family, and even the rat who used to live behind the freezer, Arty is unable to fathom why he hasn't any friends. Even his own Mother refuses to come near, sliding his meals into the garage through the doggy door. Feared, frayed, forgotten, and facing nothing but very short lines, Arty devises a Journey of vengeance, aimed to rob the spiteful world, of what it holds most dear: its coming Christmas stockings.
