When Poe Dameron crashes on an uncharted moon, he expects to die there. His stolen Jakku ship is broken, he doesn't have BB-8, and he failed his mission. That's why he's more than surprised to find that a civilization that was supposed to be extinct living there, without any knowledge of the Galaxy outside of their safe place. When they threaten to keep him there until he dies, it's up to his skills in charming people to convince them to release him.
