She face me with her mouth slightly open. She was blinking rapidly but enough for me to see how her pupils dilated, a sign that she was already panicking.

"Eli, what's happening?!" She asked like she wasn't breathing the whole time. I looked at her deadpan not knowing what to say and what to think as I see everything in this four walls is in less motion. 

I stared down at the patient lying on his deathbed just two meters away from me; doctors are hovering around him. He's not breathing. His eyes are close. His lips are now pale. 

"I'm dying." I answered her.
