Charlotte would much rather stay home on a Saturday night and watch NETFLIX, or read a book - hiding away in her bedroom where she doesn't have to impress anybody. No need for unnecessary socialising with people who aren't her friends.
But when a traumatic experience at a party causes her and an unexpected someone to become closer, Charlotte begins to feel things she only ever read about in books. Things she always secretly thought about, but figured it just wouldn't happen for her. However, despite all the books she's read and all the TV shows she's watched, nothing could prepare her for the real deal...

But with time they get out of their shells and she becomes the most popular girl in middle school and then onwards...but the boy still is the same loser like a nerd but he's the one who truly loves the girl while everyone else loves her to be with her, for her attention and "a piece of that cake" in their own words. But whenever she needs help or when she's wasted or drunk the nerdy childhood boy is the one who gets her home and takes care of her and she has never even uttered a word of thank you.
