This is a novel that I hope will be a long one. It is based off of writing.prompts prompt of "At the age of 13 children are able to summon their familiar for the first time. Your family has always been ridiculed for weak and useless familiars until the day of your 13th birthday when you summon your familiar for the first time."

The Familiars [Book 1]
A Familiar: An animal that chooses a human to bond with. The bond between the human and animal are created out of acceptance of both. The human can use the animal's traits. So if you were bonded with a bird, you could transform your arms into wings and fly. If you were bonded to a rabbit, you could transform your ears into rabbit ears for great sense of hearing. But Familiar's can be anything. From a sparrow, to the largest of all Familiars, a dragon. But creatures like dragons live in Dragon Mountain, and are very protective of each other if they don't have a human that they are bonded to.Concluida

When a child is born their soulmate is known by their name and status inked on the babies wrist. Unlike the muggle world where you are judged for being homosexual and such, the wizarding world accepts it. A soulmate is destined and can not be changed so there is no point. Well there is one problem in this system. Dumbledore. The "Kind" and "Grandfather figure" does something he can not get away from. He stole the dark lords (Voldemort) and Severus's child.
