Mature
The past is a powerful thing. It can remind us of the things that once made us happy, that once made us who we were. It can show us all the things we thought were so complicated at the time but truly were so simple, so easy. And my past, I could never part with it, no matter how many times I try to trick myself into believing it would be better for me if I had. If having the slate cleaned was a better option than acknowledging all the mistakes I've made in my life, all the pain that I've caused. But the past...the past is where she lives. A blurred image that always creeps in when I least expect it, an image that haunts my dreams, a voice that fills my memories like the soft chords of a distant melody. There is where she lives, there is where she haunts, and there is the only place I'll ever get to see her because now she's gone and without her I have nothing.
Without her...
                         I am nothing.

Nixon is the 3rd book in the Broken Series. (Ryan is the 1st, Brynn is the 2nd) Nixon leaves rehab early because he can't deal with being there anymore. His sister Kelis finds someone in need of a roommate so he moves in with the girl and gives her his middle name, Lucas. He quickly becomes addicted to the girl and once he gets one taste he's done for. He warns her about his past, about his name, but she ignores all the red flags, not realizing exactly how intertwined she is with the people from his past. He becomes enamored with her, feels like she was made for him while still battling the demons of his past and soon it all becomes too much for him to handle. He makes a heartbreaking decision, thinking it's what's best for both of them and everything changes.
