A month has passed since Kylo Ren let the Resistance escape. During this time the Resistance have been living in an underground base, training with their new hightech weapon, while the First Order have been hunting them down and threatening to diminish the Republic if they do not come out of hiding.
With Supreme Leader Kylo Ren's orders to find Rey and bring her to him, he will then be successful in killing the last jedi and the jedi religion. With the Resistance not being able to leave base and Rey not knowing she has a bounty on her head, will the First Order finally succeed in ruling the galaxy?

Immediately following the events of The Last Jedi, the battle for the galaxy continues between the First Order and the last of the Resistance. As the new Supreme Leader takes the throne, the First Order is focused on finding and destroying all who oppose them. The Resistance had disappeared into hiding and desperation has forced them to explore the gray areas of war. What if Rey had taken Kylo Ren's hand when he offered it the second time, deciding her best chance at defeating Palpatine and saving the galaxy was with him? And then there is a certain group of meddling Force Ghosts determined to test them to their fullest. Meanwhile, Finn has a destiny of his own to fulfill chasing visions of his past across the galaxy. Poe buries himself in work as he tries to forget his failures and forge ahead. Leia attempts to cement her legacy and ensure the future of the galaxy. This fanfic explores a different ending to TROS starting at about the halfway point, when Kylo reveals the truth about Rey in the hangar. It will focus mainly on their story but there will be significant plot arcs that focus on Finn, Poe, Leia, and others. There will be a few augmentations to the earlier story, but I have tried to stay true to the plot up until this point, except for the 16 hr deadline Palpatine gave them. His threat was open ended in my version.
