"Alex... I need to tell you.." she whispered to him and leaned in. Alex returned her gesture by leaning in more towards her. Their breath mingled as they inhaled in each other's presence. Amara's now both hands cupped his jaw and Alex's both hands were holding her waist. He pulled her closer to him, needing more skin contact, their lips almost touching.
Amara closed her eyes, more tears ran to her cheeks and she whispered against his lips, "I love you, Alex..."
Alex sucked in a sharp breath. He shut his eyes tightly. He knew she loved him, even without her telling him. "I-I'm in love with you and I.." He didn't let her finish. She was making this so much hard for him.
"Shh... I know Angel. Don't.. don't say anymore..." he whispered against her lips and told very softly to her, "Angel, let me do this one last time.."
He didn't even wait for her reply and placed his lips on her.

"You'd miss me if I left," he murmured, the words half a whisper-like he was testing the truth of it more than making a joke. She studied him for a long moment, really studied him, as if peeling back the bravado to see what sat underneath. Her eyes softened, but her scrutiny didn't fade. She leaned forward a fraction.
