Imagine you had your path of life chosen for you by the government. Your career, your level of Education, your lover, even where you lived all based on one simple tattoo that you are forced to receive at the age of 15. The tattoos match whomever your lover must be according to the laws and they all have their own individual meaning their meanings will be described in the book. You are told what part of town you must be in according to whom you're forced to lover is and how your personality fits in with the ways the government would like it. If you get caught doing otherwise you won't be around to share your experiences. You have no say in anything that happens in your life almost as if your life isn't yours.
Alejandra despises the Tattoo System, and after one joyful night at her party, things go downhill.

In this society, everyone has a soulmate. And the way to find yours is just look. Along with a soulmate, everyone has a small tattoo on their cheek with a symbol. Some could be a star, a flower, a yinyang, a fish, or even waves. There are so many people that the symbols are almost limitless. The tattoos don't care about gender or number. There could be gay matches, and there could even be polyamorous matches. The tattoos will tingle when you are near to your sm.
