Ella Macmillor, chosen vessel of the seven seas who has water-bending powers, meets Deborah, a vessel of the One called the Redeemer, and breaks free from the clutches of her captors-Mergirlina, her assigned mermaid demon, Leviathan, Behemoth and Queen of the Coast and the head of them all, the ancient Lord Dagon.
