In Between

Haunted by his near-drowning a few years ago, Ezekiel Rennick struggles to deal with life near the Pacific Ocean in the coastal camp of Ellis, Washington. As civil war ravages the country, refugees filter through Ellis on their way to Canada. Many of them are treated by Ezekiel who works as a medic and clings to his pacifist views, refusing to touch a weapon, and refusing to go near the water.

When Ellis is invaded by the enemy, Ezekiel is taken to a facility in Tacoma as a prisoner of war. There, he discovers secrets and a conviction to leak them...if only this pacifist can bring himself to become a weapon, and face the one thing that his life now depends on: water.
