Zoe Jameson, a 16 year old girl from Phoenix Arizona, has a dream about being kissed during a sunset phenomenal called a Green Flash. When Zoe  and her boyfriend Jeff Hudson, the love of her life, break up she goes to California to stay with her aunt for the summer. Zoe goes there hoping to find herself and get away from the horror she calls a life, but things don't go according to plan. Because Zoe's pretty sure she'll end up in jail for attempt murder while trying to drown an obnoxious guy called Luke.

 Lucas Collins is 17 and is doing whatever the hell he wants. He's annoying, overconfident, and overall obnoxious. Still, Luke is caring, protective, and will make you fall in love, even when he doesn't want anyone to know. One problem though is that he has walls as tall as mountains. Will Katie be able to break down those walls and see what's really in his heart? Can Luke really help Katie move on from her past and look to the future?
