Between Crosses and Stars
Marie-Lu Fisher was one of those naive and easily joyful youth. In her 17 years she had the luck of never finding out what true hurt felt like. She had a loving family, a strong faith, and close friends that were always there for her. The closest of them all was a cheerful boy named Tommy Baines, they were inseparable. Her peaceful childhood is ruined, however, by war. Tommy leaves to fight and Marie-Lu is forced to hide in the countryside afraid that she will be targeted because of her faith. They lose touch with time, and when the war is finally over, a lot has changed. Marie-Lu has attached herself to people in the countryside but as soon as she can, she goes back to London where she encounters Tommy, but the war has left its scars. The end of the war was far from ending Marie-Lu's problems. She is attracted to Tommy, but that compromises her engagement with the good countryside man, Ben Coleman, an engagement she has kept hidden from her family. When she starts to receive anti-semitic threats, Ben is not the only secret she keeps. Maybe she should have stayed in the countryside or maybe running away and right into her best friend's arms was the best thing she has ever done.Terminé![Into The Trenches: A World War I Journal [2019]](https://img.wattpad.com/cover/196405621-256-k421239.jpg)
Into The Trenches: A World War I Journal [2019]
It is 1914, and Henry Anderson is watching the world descend into war. Like many young men at the time, he is fascinated by the idea of warfare and glory. Henry enlists in the military against his parents' wishes and throws himself into the life of a British soldier in Flanders. But it is far from what he expects: Henry's fantasies of righteous battle fade into the grim reality of gruesome death and shell-shock. He and his fellow soldier Jacob must help each other survive the cruel trenches, but it is no longer certain that either of them will return to England alive. Told in journal entries and letters from Henry's sister Elizabeth, this reveals the realities and horrors of World War I, on the battlefield and in the homefront. I wrote this for a history project while studying WWI and got way too involved in it, so here you are. WARNINGS: gun/bomb/gas-related violence, war descriptions, graphic death, suicide attempt. I will mark specific chapters with warnings and give summaries of those chapters on the following one. These may not be complete, so if a chapter is not marked and should be, please comment to let me know. Written in 2019 (age 15).Terminé

The Life Of A German Soldier
(Still correcting for errors!) The German soldier goes through many things during his time at war, love, horror, and fear. But every soldier of any side knows that there's only one way out. He'll have to survive the new technologies of warfare. A soldier's greatest strength is bravery and moral that grows and lives in the soul. Soldiers test their strength in battle, the strong ones die as the weak ones run. War is an experience that is limited. We all don't know what it's really like. When you look at a soldier that has been at war, you can see it, its written on their faces and engraved in their eyes. A World War Two fiction story about a young man named Albert Schroeder, a twenty one year old German soldier of the Wehrmacht, has been sent to Western Russia to fight the Soviet Union in the summer of June 1944. In military training in Northern Germany, he meets another soldier named Kurt Smith. Kurt has been his friend since military training until his death in a battle against the Soviets during the early night. After Kurt's death, Albert faces many problems with another death of one of Kurt's friends from high school, Ralph Schäfer that he had just met. Albert will then be taken to a place many soldiers of his kind have gone before, a Russian P.O.W camp and might stay there for most of the war until it is over or will Albert try to escape during the night and go on a huge journey back to Germany?
