In the near future, Twilight Fell. The nights became longer, darker, and full of monsters; and the days gloomy and unsettling. Survivors are few and far between, scratching out a living by whatever means necessary.
Before, humanity had created artificial life, Artificial Persons. Colonies were being established on the moon. There were missions to Mars ready to be launched. All of that was lost to us in this dark world. And yet, some of us have survived. For how much longer is the question. Zombies wander the empty cities and vampires stalk the night. Perhaps it is the twilight for us before the long night begins...

Remainers
In the far future, humans have left Earth behind in search of a new home after climate change, war, and destruction have left it uninhabitable. Your Wings Will Betray You
In a distant future where humanity has abandoned Earth in favor of colonizing the entire universe, the dangerous job of piloting ships has been delegated to androids. When one of those pilots goes on a murderous rampage, it's set to be decommissioned by the Magnus-Barlowe corporation. Unfortunately, this AI is self-aware, and the engineer is an idiot. A scientist staging a prison break steals both a ship and the android to be its pilot, hoping to escape the claws of capitalism. An opportunity to do just that is presented when the mismatched crew is presented with a task: rescue the kidnapped daughter of a black-market salesman and be granted safe passage to a planet without a single MBC colony to bother them. Even though making deals with thieves is generally regarded as a bad idea, there doesn't really seem to be a choice for these wayward souls. With a crew made up of human and synthetic criminals, getting one measly kid from a space station full of scientists can't be too hard. Right? on hiatus
A Different Virus - Laura's Story
This is a second view point from my original story - A Different Virus - Heartfire. I highly advise reading the original book first. Intro: Laura was a happy child without a care in the world. She loved her parents and life was perfect. Nothing seemed like it could go wrong. People started talking about a bad flu that was spreading and sending some into a coma. Her parents grew worried and stocked the house in case of a pandemic. Months later another virus appeared. Her family was shocked when the news people started reporting that zombies were actually real and not just part of a horror movie. They were appearing in every country. Her parents reassured her that none of the zombie sightings had been anywhere close to them. Her life is turned upside down when her father ends up in hospital with the bad flu and mother exiles her upstairs for her safety. She was never allowed downstairs again. Weeks pass and the streets become deserted with the exception of the red eyed zombies that wandered around. One night she notices a swiftly moving figure with glowing blue eyes in the street below. Should she call out or remain silent? It's been ten years since the fall of humanity. I was only ten years old when the zombies took over. The military told us to flee underground, explaining that it was safer. The zombies are smart, too smart. They can learn to hide themselves. Some of them disguise themselves to look like normal people. We tell them apart by checking their eyes. Zombies have enlarged pupils compared to humans. Nightmares (Complete)
Winter and her two sisters, Alyssa and Nalla, finally accept the true nature of the apocalypse. but only when a zombie attacks, and bites one of their own. spoilers: I ran into the zombie, arm first, pushing it down before the woman was bitten. I glanced up at her, watching her run with a small smile. That is about the time i realized i was still wrestling a zombie. I looked back at it, but it was to late, it's teeth were wrapped around my arm, blood oozing from it's mouth. I held my breath to stop my scream, shoving the zombie away, jumping back with a small gasp. I am a zombie now. I felt tears spring to my eyes, and i let them roll down my face. For some reason, one thought went through my head. I need to hide. It's been only a couple years since 'they' have come and the Human population has decreased at a rapid speed where most of 'them' are now in the head. In 2045, I joined the Black Dawn with a boy named Zen. He was kind and sweet to me-but he also has a dark side to him. One that could kill me and everyone else in the Black Dawn. I knew he didn't mean to have the dark side but it was the only way to make sure he stays alive. Anyway, the Black Dawn is a place to protect Humans from 'them' and now it's the opposite. It's a place where secrets are kept hidden and betrayals are just around the corner. Plus 'they' are knocking on the wall that surrounds us to let 'them' in and someone may open the door to our doom.Complete
