In the near future, Twilight Fell. The nights became longer, darker, and full of monsters; and the days gloomy and unsettling.  Survivors are few and far between, scratching out a living by whatever means necessary.
Before, humanity had created artificial life, Artificial Persons. Colonies were being established on the moon. There were missions to Mars ready to be launched. All of that was lost to us in this dark world. And yet, some of us have survived. For how much longer is the question. Zombies wander the empty cities and vampires stalk the night. Perhaps it is the twilight for us before the long night begins...

I crawled and sunk impossibly deeper into the couch behind me, biting my nails to hold back the scream of horror aching to burst through my chords. The terrifying and spine shivering sight of flesh being ripped to pieces, agonising screams of terror and the horrendous sight of blood splattering on the living room window escalated my heart beats to rhythms I never thought possible. Suddenly all was quiet, silent and dark. The light from the moon that peeked through the window became non-existent. The screams of terror and horror disappeared and at the window I felt the presence of the monster who was doing this. It turned a bit staring back at me with menacing yellow orbs penetrating to my soul as a silent warning that I would be next. Next in line following the demise of my very own...family. Crystal Cane, 17 year old senior in high school has had to live 12 years of her life after the incident with a new family, new home, new school and fortunately new friends. Still a little timid as she lives her life she has to be ready to see what fate has in store for her. Or what it seems to have against her . She enters a new lifestyle filled with question and very un expected harm her way. This has been a rough start for me but believe or not I find it hard to give up even if I so badly want to. It's been only a couple years since 'they' have come and the Human population has decreased at a rapid speed where most of 'them' are now in the head. In 2045, I joined the Black Dawn with a boy named Zen. He was kind and sweet to me-but he also has a dark side to him. One that could kill me and everyone else in the Black Dawn. I knew he didn't mean to have the dark side but it was the only way to make sure he stays alive. Anyway, the Black Dawn is a place to protect Humans from 'them' and now it's the opposite. I glanced up at her, watching her run with a small smile. That is about the time i realized i was still wrestling a zombie. I looked back at it, but it was to late, it's teeth were wrapped around my arm, blood oozing from it's mouth. I held my breath to stop my scream, shoving the zombie away, jumping back with a small gasp. I am a zombie now. I felt tears spring to my eyes, and i let them roll down my face. For some reason, one thought went through my head. I need to hide. Even though making deals with thieves is generally regarded as a bad idea, there doesn't really seem to be a choice for these wayward souls. With a crew made up of human and synthetic criminals, getting one measly kid from a space station full of scientists can't be too hard. Right?

Their first prototype was tested prematurely. It gave the human test subjects extreme speed and strength for 1 hour. They escaped and infected hundreds. The infection spread and mutated till the Earth was overrun by different kinds of hungry human - eating zombies. Vampires aren't the only supernatural creatures. Most of the others have gone into hiding, trying to wait it out. Werewolves, however, are the mortal enemies of vampires. They have formed a guard that protects humans day and night. Dogs are a man's best friend right?
