Suốt những ngày lo tìm chỗ ở trước khi ra trường, lo làm khóa luận tốt nghiệp, Linh vẫn băn khoăn, trăn trở giữa hai lựa chọn, ở lại hay về. Nếu ở lại, Linh sẽ phải tiếp tục gượng ép bản thân hòa nhập với cuộc sống đầy buồn tẻ ấy. Nếu về quê, Linh phải từ bỏ ước mơ của mình.
Cuối cùng, Linh quyết định về quê.
Cuộc sống ở quê đã thay đổi con người, suy nghĩ của Linh. Cô cởi mở hơn, vui vẻ hơn, và hoàn toàn hạnh phúc với những gì mình đang có.

Những điều được viết trong truyện: cuộc sống sinh viên của Linh khi ở trường, khi ở phòng trọ..., cuộc sống của Linh khi về quê, suy nghĩ của Linh về mọi thứ diễn ra hàng ngày.
