His dark, brown eyes locked with mine right before that last ding. Once the door closed, I would've never have seen him again.

I'm a very succesful lawyer with an amzing job. I'm on a case with a girl that shoplifted to give food to the poor. Every night I go home and expect to sleep in a nice bed with my cat. But I can't even do that, she hates me. 

One night, I dream of someone from my childhood, wishing that they were with me then. I remember all the great times we had together. I closed my eyes and drift off to sleep.

That next morning, I press that button to go up eight floors, but really it's eight floors to love.
