Adriana has no one she can turn too other than her husband, and his family who mostly love getting her in trouble.
A mother-in-law who wants her inheritance to herself, a brother in-law that lusts after her and a lot of other set ups made against her.
Leocadio didn't want a wife or the trouble that came with having one, he wasn't known to show emotions or to show affection of any kind. His son and family where enough trouble for him to deal with so he wasn't welcoming when he got a wife.
