When I was human I was a witch. I looked over the Forbes family back in the day when we first settled to Mystic falls. Every founding family had at least one witch to look after them. They protected us from other people and we protected them from the supernatural. Then everything went to shit when Katherine showed up. 

All the witches were killed fighting off the vampires, except me. And with there dying breath they pasted there power onto me. But this isn't even the beginning.
