Andrew Leiton, a 16 year old boy with depression, everyday he deals with the same routine. Him and his friends, Lilly and Toby, go through the same shit. Get bullied at school, go to classes and go home to face there inner demons...or outer demons in Toby's case.
Each day is a new challenge, each challenge brings worse and worse negative emotions. It isn't worth the fight half the time so what do these three do? Get high, enjoy the temporary happiness it gives them then go back to self destroying.
So yeah, its not a happy life for these three. Each day is an eternal struggle and without anyone but each other the name others have branded them is what they had now learnt to call themselves.

I don't like the way he told me he needed to care for me. I felt like an obligation, a responsibility that he is carrying and carrying leads to getting tired and when people gets tired, they give up. I don't want them to give up on me. But they will, so it's good not to make them care for me in the first place. "I never needed anyone. I stopped needing anyone before, why start now?" I uttered the words again. Why? There is nothing to fight for. No mama. No papa. No sister to love me. No one. So why would I waste my life and the time of others to fix what is already broken - and someone who doesn't want to be fixed? If I may add. Maybe I gave up. No, scratch that. I gave up a long time ago - when my parents died, my hope and purpose went away with them.Complete

There he needs a girl and is taken aback. He is completely awestruck by her beauty and her ability to play the guitar and get lost in a melody that she creates. However reality hits and he becomes disappointed when he knows that he will never see her again until her decides to show his true potential and transfer to an AP math's class and at the back of the class sat his angel. Lucas has some demons as well. Fighting an horrid past, a personality disorder and then another hardship hits him. He has bad chemistry grades and must in list the help of the schools smartest girl but this condition comes as a price. Is Lucas willing to pay? She was ice and he was fire.
