When Elvia Fairbairn comes across an opportunity to make millions on a governmental device, hidden from the public in the year 3000, she partners up with a group of anarchists in order to get their hands on the prototype to expose the government to the public. In spite of that, Elvia's personal plan is rather different as she schemes to take the device for herself with the use of her power to communicate with technology. Things take a turn for the worst, however, as the device malfunctions in her hands and takes her back to 2018.
With the government after her, and the anarchist group seeking vengeance, will Elvia manage to survive?

Anyway, let's start by becoming a mercenary and picking up gigs. That sounds simple enough, but getting a job from a fixer only to face off against an ACPA (Armored Combat Personal Assist) right off the bat-aren't we going a bit overboard here? And who's this daughter of Michiko Arasaka? I've only seen the demo; I don't know these people! What kind of chaotic mission is this!?

Finally she lands a new job online, in a virtual reality simulation, but later uncovers with the help of a young man, Jake, that the company she works for could be a central hub for shady, underground, secret activities. The worst part is, people have disappeared under strange, unknown circumstances. Only person she can turn to help at this point is her estranged twin brother, who stopped talking to her years ago. As they try to uncover a huge conspiracy, the three realize, they may be next on someone's hit list. For my family, friends, and all who appreciate my work. She flies home from war, upset, to do what needs to be done, but once there she finds out all is not as it seems. Ellie’s daughter is alive and unhurt. She is being held by of one of the many debt-recovery corporations. Held, for leverage, to make Ellie do the corporation a favour. Ellie’s daughter will be returned unharmed if Ellie does as they wish. The son of a company director is lost somewhere in the wilderness of post-debt-restructuring America, and hasn't been seen for three days. The company wants Ellie to go and find the kid, and Ellie doesn't know if she can. The one rule she's stuck to all her working life is to never to go to America, but now she might have to. She will have to, if she wants to save the daughter she hasn't seen in years.
