The old man somehow gives him the power to call upon any money he will ever need when needed, the ability to speak, read, write, and understand any language, and lastly, raises his luck to basically be the luckiest man alive, but his luck is unpredictable. Now this is a work of fiction, I've never actually been to Japan, so I'm basically gonna make up my own town that Simon moves to in Japan.
