This book takes place in 2014 for the Soshi Winter Games and only small details about the games such as the opening/closing ceremony and the women's half-pipe will be changed to fit this storyline. Only a few characters are made up, the rest are all Olympians and their couches and families. 
Book 2 will follow them after the 2014 games leading up to the 2018 games.
