Leonard Colt, a voluntarily retired FBI agent is drafted back on track, but not into FBI with his former titles, but as a private detective, as deemed by and asked to assist, in a strange case by the Brooklyn police.
Four people died tragically in gas station "accident": a housewife, a local politician, a young chemist, and the daughter of a local mobster.
Leonard Colt has to figure out which of those people was the actual target, and why.
His instincts not only helps him to loose the ties in the case but also helps him learn that he's being watched. Was the "watcher" the the killer himself? Is Leo in imminent danger by taking up the case? Who's the killer? What were his intentions? And who was the actual target?
