When a person gets dumped, they feel like trash, at least for a little bit, right? They can't immediately move on; they need time to heal. That's where Grace Finley comes in, the secret "rebound girl" at Haven Preparatory Academy. For a reasonable sum, she agrees to fake-date guys and girls while they get back on their feet after a breakup. Not only is she a pro at faking girlfriendhood, but she's also excellent at psychologically "fixing" her conquests. It's a win-win situation: Grace gets money and real-life experience for her Psychiatry coursework-reluctantly following in her estranged mother's footsteps-and she gets to date her hot classmates without the pressure of real commitment. Her fake partners get an intact reputation, a fleeting "doting girlfriend," and proper counseling. And it works just fine until Julian Parker comes into the picture.
Julian Parker is #1 in the junior class, at Haven Prep on a scholarship. Like Grace, Julian is constantly in a relationship, but his are real, and each one leaves his heart more broken. Julian's friends are sick of seeing him hurting, so Rory-one of Grace's previous clients-pays her to date him, using her skills to make him break up with her, changing the course of his heartbreak and reversing his usual role in relationships.
It's supposed to be a quick, easy deal: don't fall in love, and make sure Julian never finds out that their relationship is fake. Easy peasy. What's the worst that could happen?
Elliot Jensen and Elliot Fintry have a lot in common. They share the same name, the same house, the same school, oh and they hate each other but, as they will quickly learn, there is a fine line between love and hate.
