When his mother hauls in a new painting one day, Justin Brackwell is astounded to see that the girl depicted in it is the mirror image of Veronica Maychester, the beautiful blonde at school that he's crazy about. But ever since seeing the painting, his adoptive brother, Kasper, is acting weird, really weird. What is it about the painting that has such an effect on him? Why does it look like Veronica? Why was it locked away for a century, hidden from the world? Why does everyone seem to think it's such a big deal?
