Alex is totally thrown by how much she loves Mark. It started off as platonic but became something way more after they started dating. She's kind of insecure, worried that Mark just going to stop liking her and will like someone better instead. All of that goes away when he promises her that he'll always put her first in his heart, even when they go off to high school and meet more people. He keeps up on his promise for the first few months, but when it starts breaking into bits and pieces, Alex wasn't ready for it.
Set over a few years, this is the promise story.
