What if the helpful-yet-annoying wizard is a college student learning magic for extra credit? What if the evil witch who dresses in black and lives in a dark, foreboding fortress is an old woman who knits scarves with enchanted knitting needles, and has several not-so-evil black cats that chase yarn across the floor? What if the beautiful, helpless damsel with golden hair that everyone falls in love with is a closet metalhead and prefers ripped jeans to scratchy gowns?

Gideon Saint is dying for something exciting to happen in his life. With his love of history, he figures an internship at the museum has to be a good start, right? Yes, you may learn something about history, but that's a risk you'll have to take. Basically, think of this as a Percy Jackson type of adventure, but it's historical fiction instead of Greek gods. The narrator is 15 and the major supporting characters are 14, 17, and 19. That said, there's nothing in the way of content that's inappropriate for a younger reader. As always if you're not here to go on a fun little adventure find a different story. Trigger/Content: very mild language, some magic violence, fantasy violence. Self-harm is briefly discussed. Adoption issues are discussed as well as brief scenes of a abusive family. Characters briefly mention crushes and or dating, no real innuendos.Complete

It's dark in the closet, I can just vaguely see his features and realise how close we're standing. Like, really close. My chest is toughing his and my hand is resting on his shoulder. As I realise that, I quickly remove it. "Cozy", he whispers in my ear, which make chills run down my spine. "Shut up", I whisper. "McGonagall's class starts in ten minutes, I guess you'll be stuck in here until then", he says smirking. "I can leave at any moment", I say, glaring at him.
