But it was faded, a sentence that no one heard but the Prince. He sighed, watching her leave. Suddenly, he noticed the shining shoe perched on the stairs gracefully. Picking it up, he carefully examined it. Only one girl could fit in this shoe; his Ladybug. (This is not a Cinderella story, I promise. There's more than meets the eye! [boyxboy] [completed] [unedited] Soot is a slave at the royal palace. He earned his name from his job of cleaning away the cinders and soot that cover the many hearths of the castle. Though he is locked up at night, worked to exhaustion and barely able to walk on his mangled legs Soot likes to keep his hopes and spirits high. When the announcement of a ball is sent to the staff, Soot finds himself growing excited to witness and be apart of setting up one of the biggest celebrations of the century. If only Soot could get his mind off of the mysterious knight who had whisked him off his feet long enough to finish cleaning. ✨ Grimm is the prince, a legendary warrior and the leader the kingdom is yearning for. He's also fighting with everything he has to marry for love and not for political gain. When he nearly tramples an angel on a hunt he finds himself falling head over heels for a boy who keeps disappearing. Yes, this is a story based on none other than the character of Cinderella. However...this rendition of telling the tale is quite different. This quick-read is all written in the form of haikus; a form of poetry that is written in a 5/7/5 syllable count. In this story, you learn about the lives these characters really lived behind the scenes of the happily ever after that we all know to be. The prince was mistreated and locked away in the castle by his evil step-father. The mystery remains why. When the prince escapes, having the knowledge that the king is locking him away out of fear of the power he possesses, and tries to leave. The guards are constantly searching for him and he is trapped in the town of Magnolia. When the beautiful maiden, Lucy Heartfillia, helps him away from the guards, he contemplates telling her that he is the prince. Before he can do anything strange events occur possibly reveling his true power. She helps him through all in his troubled times, and the prince cant help but fall in love with the beautiful maiden in the times of trouble. [SLOW UPDATES] Characters belong to Hiro Mashima.
